About Us

Principal Kimberly Rogers began her career in education in 1998 at Barbour Middle School as a second-career educator. A proud graduate of Cass Technical High School, she returned to Detroit Public Schools to serve the community that helped shape her. In 2000, she joined Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High School, where she later transitioned into the Guidance and Counseling Department.

As a counselor, Mrs. Rogers supported students’ academic, social, emotional, and career development while remaining deeply involved in school life through numerous extracurricular and leadership roles. In 2010, she began her administrative career with Detroit Public Schools Community District and has since served in multiple leadership positions, including Assistant Principal, Dean of Culture, Academic Engagement Administrator, and Program Director.

A dedicated servant leader, Principal Rogers has held numerous district and school-level leadership roles and is most notably recognized for securing more than $9 million in School Improvement Grant funding to expand opportunities and improve student outcomes. She also serves on the boards of The Torch of Wisdom Foundation, Inc. and Futures of Detroit and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
